History of Shooting Stars Benefit

The first annual Shooting Stars Benefit was held in London in 2009 at the London Golf Club and The Hurlingham. Samuel L Jackson Hosted with Michael Bolton headlining backed by The BBC Royal philharmonic Orchestra. Celebrities from across the board participated in the golf tournament and also graced our red carpet at the Closing Ball. Alice Cooper, Colin Salmon, Luke Wilson, Damien Lewis, JJ Feild, Andrea Carr and Michael Campbell were amongst those who attended to support the event. Two Michelin Starred Chef, Marcus Wareing designed and delivered the bespoke fine dining experience at the Closing Ball. All in all it was a great showcase for a new event at such a difficult time.

2010 returned with a bang! The Shooting Stars Benefit was hosted at the Grand Resort Band Ragaz in Switzerland. Surrounded by some of the most amazing of backdrops the event surpassed the 2009 showcase. Working with new sponsors and partners in a country we do not speak the language was challenge but interesting at the same time. The Legend that is Ms Dionne Warwick headlined the Closing Ball channing out hit after hit including such classics ‘”Do You Know The Way To San Jose?”’ and “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, with support from Esmee Denters. For the first time, we shunned normal golf awards instead deciding to gift with items that can be used / experienced by our winners. Maurice Lacroix donated A Watch for each winner. Second prize was some really expensive champagne with FLIP Cameras and Cases of wines rounding off these prizes. Mr Jackson hosted the event once again as it combines two things he cherishes, Golf and raising the profile and funds for our chosen charity. Bright stars were out in force once again with the attendance of Rupert Grint, Haley Joel Osment, Ioan Gruffudd, Denis Haybrett amongst others, all working hard to take the prize of winning golf team.

2011 brings us back to London and it promises to be our best event to date.
